Un-involved Life
“Don’t, for once, let your life be just a tale you tell, just words following words and never really involving you…”says Ansel’s mentor in The Return Of Ansel Gibbs. I probably have this written in at least three different notebooks, journals, what have you, because it never wears thin and old, because I need to be reminded of this more than I’d like to admit. And, also, because I believe there are far too many lives lived that never involve the person living it, that most people are ghost, apparitions in their own stories; and thus, in other’s stories too.
